This was another fun prompt from the fiction course. The task is to describe something familiar with one or two surprising words you wouldn’t normally associate with what you are describing.
Here is mine:
There was a certain romance in the scars on her belly. After all, they were a roadmap to the most important thing she has ever done or will ever do; they led straight to her daughter.
As you can see, I have used both ‘romance’ and ‘roadmap’ to describe scars – neither of which are normally attributed to them 😉
